STATUS: In Progress
Second Public Meeting
Thank you to those who attended our first public meeting. The second public meeting location is set for the Northeast Regional Library on Tuesday, September 24. We will publish a flyer with other details as the date approaches.
Fox Chase, Burholme, Rhawnhurst, Lexington, Bells Corner, and the northern portions of Lawndale, Upper Northwood and Castor Gardens.
Located along a section of Cottman Avenue, the Central Northeast has a variety of attractive housing choices and plentiful shopping. Key Issues are improving the design of shopping centers, neighborhood commercial revitalization and commercial signage, walkable communities and pedestrian safety, and safety of motorists and pedestrians on Roosevelt Blvd. Community leaders monitor zoning variances to preserve neighborhood character. Long range planning is needed for public transit and Transit-Oriented Development. The district has major public parks that require staffing, maintenance and upkeep. Enforcement is needed for property upkeep, litter and dumping.
