Focus Areas are catalysts for their larger context. They are strategically located sites with the potential to benefit the entire district, or even the city as a whole. Reimagining these areas as more dynamic economically, aesthetically, or functionally can have a transformational effect. These long-term visions provide inspiration and a framework as smaller improvements occur incrementally.
The Lower Southwest District Plan has two focus areas: Woodland & Elmwood Avenue Corridors, and Lower Eastwick. Below are draft plans for each of the focus areas. Click on the images to enlarge.
Woodland & Elmwood Avenue Corridors
An opportunity to enhance and strengthen commercial corridors through improvements to transit and the public realm.
An opportunity to address environmental and economic concerns within large areas of vacant and underutilized land.
